Which Key West Gay Resort is Best for You?
If you’re planning a much-needed gaycation to Key West, you’ve got quite an array of options for gay hotels, resorts, and fun-filled gay guest houses.
With the list below, I’ll make it easy for you to find which of these popular accommodations fits your style and budget best.
After mentioning the most popular Key West gay resorts and guest houses, I’ll list some additional LGBT-friendly resorts popular with gay travelers.
Keep in mind that many Key West hotels that are popular with gay travelers are not always branded specifically as “gay hotels.” Key West is known for being one of the gayest destinations in America, so you’ll likely meet gay friends wherever you stay.
Gay Resorts in Key West
Island House Gay Resort
The legendary Island House Gay Resort has been around since 1976 and is among the most popular in Key West.
Expect a pool full of rowdy gay men and unicorn floats upon arrival! Island House is branded as a clothing-optional gay resort that welcomes all types of men. They also host a ton of gay parties during events like Key West’s bear weekend.
They’ve got a bunch of different room options, including apartment-style suites with full kitchens and private terraces, and poolside deluxe suites with king-sized beds.
Island House’s new “Shared Experience” might be geared toward budget travelers, but once you see how it works, you might want to book one of these seven ultra-modern rooms for yourself! Guests share a newly renovated multi-occupant bathroom facility, which includes a spacious group shower!
In a Key West clothing optional resort with such a sexually charged atmosphere, I’m sure you’ll have questions. Good thing the Island House FAQ page has all the answers.
Prices start at $260 for shared-bath accommodations and top out around $530 per night for two-bedroom suites.
Don’t forget to pack a few sexy swimsuits for the pool! (Don’t miss wolfyy’s post on 30+ top gay swimwear brands).
The Saint Hotel Key West, Autograph Collection
They don’t explicitly say it, but the Saint Hotel Key West clearly caters to the gay community. With the motto “play naughty and sleep saintly,” there’s no doubt you’ll be surrounded by gay guys.
The Saint Hotel is a Marriott property, a heads up to Bonvoy members! Their pricing is pretty average, with small rooms starting at $300 per night and double queen rooms around $440 per night.
Rooms come in a bunch of different layouts too. Some of them have electric-blue accent lighting, a theme throughout the hotel. If you love socializing poolside, check out the rooms that have small terraces steps away from their gorgeous infinity pool.

Gay Guesthouses in Key West
Alexander’s Guesthouse
In my opinion, Alexander’s Guesthouse is the most stylish of all the gay Key West accommodations. Everything has a modern, chic feel. I especially love their rooms that have a private deck with an outdoor shower!
They’re also one of the few accommodations that specifically brand themselves as a gay and lesbian resort in Key West, welcoming every person among the LGBTQ+ community.
Amenities include a large pool, spa, cozy lounges, and several sun decks with clothing-optional areas.
Prices tend to be on the higher side for such a luxurious hotel retreat. If you book through Hotels.com though, you might be able to get a better room rate at Alexander’s. Check Booking.com below, too!
